HOCKEY.

« MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. The first meeting of . the newly-elect-ed Management Committee was held last night. There were present; Messrs. G. W. Morice (in the chair), J. M'Eldowney, Sheeran, E. Bountree, Webley, W. S. Barr, F. H.. M'Keever, Sohlaadt, and A. A. Bennett. A letter was received from the camp adjutant at Trentham giving permission for a team of men from the Force there to play a Karori eleven. It was decided to commence championship matches in all grades on April 24, while it was resolved to fix the Monday' previous as the last day for receiving team entries for the contesta.. On the motion of Mr. Bennett it was decided to run only two;grades this season, senior and junior. The secretary reported that-all the grounds were ready for practice today. -.7". Permission was given to the Wednesday Association to use Karori Park until formal application is made by that association. - • The secretary intimated that Mr. C. . N. Cathie would be unable'to 1 accept office on the Management Committee this year. _ • \ . Sub-committees were set up' as follow:—Grounds and postponement committee : Messrs. Bennett, Sheeran, and Schlaadt. Schools' hockey • committee: Messrs. Bountree, Edwards,'; Hawkes, Marshall, and Cooper. Match and transfer committee: Messrs.'.M'Eldowney, Schlaadt and Bennett. Recording secretary, Mr. Barr; assistant secretary, Mr. C. H. Pullyn.
