WEEK-END SHIRKERS AT BIRKENHEAD
' RENEWED TROUBLE (Rec. March 28, 3.30 p.m.) London, March 27. Skilled Government dock yard workers have been granted an increase of 35., and unskillod men 25.; piece workers an increase of 71 per cent. There is renowed trouble at Birkenhead amongst a minority consisting of two thousand men, who refuse to work at tho weck-enda LONDON DOCK WORKERS. INCREASED WAR. BONUS DEMANDED. _ _ London, March 26. The Port of London Authority is prepared to refer tho waterside workers' demand for an increased war bonus to arbitration, provided that tho Government reimburses the Authority for tho increase; or the Authority is willing to hand over the control of tho work to the Government if guaranteed an income equal to that earned in 1014.
