INDIAN LABOUR IN FIJI
DEMAND FOR MORE COOLIES. (Rec. January 19, 4.22 p.m.) Suva, January 19. At a crowded meeting, the Chamber of Commerce unanimously re6olveds "That the Suva Chamber of Commerce views with great alarm the cessation of emigration from India to the colony, and is of opinion that unless prompt measures are taken to renew recruiting from India, and thus ensure an ample supply of labour, the colony of Fiji and its industries will receive a crushing blow."
