Jones, .Toirnsend, Anderson, Brocklebank, Cox, List, and Forsyth.. An apology was received from Councillor Findlay, and leave of absence was granted Councillor. Trueman. Before proceeding with the business, the Mayor, referred to the loss, the Empire had sustained in tho death -'of Earl-Roberts, and a motion of sympathy was carried by the council. . ThePetono DefenceEiflo Club'thanked the council for, its assistance on its rifle range, and invited members to visit and inspect, the work any Saturday afternoon. Tlie invitation was accepted. The District Health Officer wrote stating that tho selling of milk in any place in which vegetables are stored was prohibited under the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, and in this connection an application to sell milk was refused. The {Hon. F. M. B. Fisher, in a, communication, explained in detail the amendment of the law that provided for the ,superannuaticn of Borough Council employees. It was agreed that the matter should be left in the hands of the Mayor to explain to the counoil em. ployees.
