The local offico of the New Zealand Shipping Comnnny was advised on Saturday that th'e captain of the steamer Wsiimato Had reported by wireless that the cargo of flax was on firo in No. f> hold. Captain, Mead stated that his vessel was in lat. 57ik>g. 17nun. south and TOtleff. 51min. west, also that he hoped to reach Monte Video. . Tlie Wainiate, SGIO tons, Captain Mead, belongs to the New Zealand Sliippinf? Company's fleet. The vessel loaded pceneral cargo at various ports in the Doiuinion, and sailed from Wellington early on the morning of Hay 5. She is already duo at Monte Video. The position given makes her three or four days out from that port.
