Ho said that there would bo soventy Bills, .including measures providing for the Stato market gardens, fisheries, ironworks, a timber mill, fire insurance, a universal eight-hour day, and abolition of one-man control of tho railways. Thc.ro would also be a Fair Rents Bill, a crusado against consumption, amended industrial arbitration, legislation, and legislation making for reducing tho cost of living. . . Ho frankly declared himself a Socialist. Ho would do something more practical than merely wear the red tie. Regarding' tho Meat Trust, lie declared that if it eamq to Australia ho would settle it .in twenty-four hours. Ho proposed Stato fire insurance and fisheries on Now Zealaiid lines. The crusado against consumption would include notification without publicity.
