CITY LOAN PROPOSALS
STATEMENT BY THE MAYOR. The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) was asked by Councillor A. H.Hindmarsh, at the City Council last night, if he had his loan proposals ready yet. The Mayor (laughingly): "It is pretty near ready. I will tell you on Friday night." Councillor R. Fletcher: "Are .you to put forward the'proposals to ratepayers before you put\thcm to the council?" ■ ■■■;■■ ■ ■; ■; ■
The Mayor: '-I can only submit in my address proposals I think should ho Diit. I don't know what the Engineer is going to bring down, but I know the proposals I advocate, and they have been circulated." ' .
