AUCKLAND'S STRIKE LOSS.
MAYOR SAYS £200,000. (By Teleeranli.—Press Association.) Auckland, December 20. Tlio Mayor says that at a conscrvatiro estimate 7000 men wore idle in Auckland for at least a fortnight, which represents a loss of £85,000 in wages. S.mco then 2000 havo been idle for four weeks, many of them skilled artisans. Their loss in wages is about £23,000. In all Auckland workers lost about £00,000 in wages. Jlr. Parr estimated that business and shipping in Auckland would show a shrinkage of £100,000 during the strike period. Tlio farmers' loss would ho heavy. From various causes indirectly tho result of tlio strike,, in one way and another, Auckland province hud lost at least £200,000.
