DAY'S BAY FERRY.
VIEWS OF THE NEW. MAYOR, "I liavo been convinced for some years past that tho ferry servico is the essential factor in the development of Eastbourne." was a remark mado yesterday by Mr. W. J. Organ, tho newly-cleqted Mayor of 1 that borough. "This matter was dealt with during tho term of (ho last council," ho continued, "and it lvas not the fault of members of tho council that it was not permanently and dehnitciv settled. Tho matter will come up before this council, and personally 1° believe that it must bs settled Cither by the acquisition of ncw i boats or by tho purchase of tho existing ferry service. I do not decide definitely in favour of one course or the other meantime, but it is necessary that a decision should bo arrived at. Out of this question wi 1 probably arise, later, that of the ninalgamation of Day's Bay with Eastboyine. This'matter also will, I think, come beforo the council in tho near future. At a later stage in tho. meeting, Mr. Organ mentioned that during tho last four months tho Eastbourno Council had avera"cd three commiHeo meetings per week, called to .consider tho question ot the. ferry servico.
