TRADES COUNCIL.
NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICERS. A meeting of the Trades Council was held on •Thursday night. TJio President (llr. 51. J. -Reai'don) was in the chair. '' The annual report nnd balance-sheet were considered and-approved. The report- was 110 moro than a simple account of things done during the year. It'contained little comment on the actions enumerated, and no statement whatever to future policy. Nominations were received as follow for tho offices to be filled, the elections for .which will take placa on Thursday nextPfcsident, Messrs. E. Kennedy and J. Eoad; vice-president, Messrs. H. Hanton. and J. M'Kenzie; treasurer,' Mr. F. Cornwall; secretary, Mr. L; M. A. Eearden; committee (five members), Messrs. IC. Garidy, E. Kennedy, W.' Cooper, .T. M'Kenzie, F. Singleton, .T. 'Bead, W. S. Bedford, S. Gordon, G. F. Edwards, and H. Hanton; trustees (two), Messrs. W. Waterworth and.M., J.. Reardon.
