THE MARRIAGE LAWS.
The Anglican Bishop of Bathurst (Dr. lit'iig), preaching recently at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Dubbo, condemned tho tendency towards making divorce easy, 110 said'they must keep the family "lifo pure, loqking upon marriage as a sacred tiling; and Parliament, by breaking tho laws of God in this regard, was causing tho whole of society [to suffer. He went on to say that statistics showed that in every country in the world where there had bccu relaxation of tho marriage laws, there had been social degradation. Men and women were more ready to enter into alliances when they thought these need onlv be temporary if unsatisfactory.' "Christians," he _ declared, "must protest against any. violation of the laws of Christ., which were the security of society."
