United Kingdom, will lie via Earotonga, Tahiti, and San Francisco, closing at Wellington, per Aorangi, on Friday, January 3; at 3 p.m. On Wednesday, January 1, (New Tear's Day), the Postal Department.will bo closed in all its branohos. On the above-named days mails dispatched by steamers will close at 6.30 a.m., also mails by trains for tho Wairarapa, T&Tanaki, Wanganui, Kangitikei, Manawatu. Hawke'B Bay, and Auckland districts will close at 6.30 a.m. There will not be any clearances of the city receivers or deliveries by letter-carriers on the above-named day.'
