TECHNICAL EDUCATION.
BOARD MEETING. . At the monthly meeting of the Technical Education Board last nigl'it Mr. J. P. Luke presided, and there were also present Messrs. J. G. AV. Aitken, J. E. Fitzgerald, and W. Allen. The financial statement showed,the receipts to be JEIG3 17s. 3d., while tho expenditure amounted to .£1384 6s. 2d. Class arrangements for 1913 were approved. . Tile director reported that the arrival of Mr. Vivian' Smith would permit of new classes in design for pottery, drawing design, and decoration. In connection with tho Callender Memorial Scholarship, the following awards have been made-.—Painting and decorating, L. Auty; electrical engineering, T. Auty; domestic economy, A. M. Beetham; cabinetmaking, L. J. Mason; carpentering, J. H. V. Gason; building cohstruction, C. B. M'Arthur; plumbing, A. Harris, N. C. Bartlett, Hy. Gill, W. J. fleam, A. E. Pettengell, A. Reid, F.,J. Waterworth, and C. Woodstock. _ The annual. distribution of prizes has been fixed to take place at the Town Hail Concert Chamber at 8 o'clock on the evening of December 4.
