THE 1912-1913 LAMBING. A return' published by the JJeym'tineiit of Agriculture gives tJio total breeding ewes ami the estimated percentage 01 lambs for the 1912-13 season. Dealing witli stud sheep the return estimates tjw percentage of lambs in the Auckland, Na-pier-Uisborne, and the Coast districts as 95, and the percentage in the Marlborough-Nelson-Westlaud, Canterbury, Kaikoura, and the Utago districts as 101. The totals uuder the heading of "stud" in the North Island are: —Lincoln, 28,403j Koinncy, 04,1)34; Border Leicester, 3938; English Leicester, 4504; Shropshire, 2313; Southdown, 7681; other breds, 4198; and for the feouth Island Lincoln, 3048; Roroney, 23,984; Border Leicester, 25,485; English Leicester, 24,715; Shropshire, 5127; Southdown, 4461; other breds, 11,211. The grand total is: Lincoln, 31;451; Romuey, 88,968; Border Leicester, 29,421; English Leicester, 29,279; Shropshire, 7440; Southdown, 12,142; and other breeds, 15,409. • Under the heading l of "flock, the estimated percentage of lambs is 93 in the North and 90 in the South. The North Island total is given as 6,277,381 crosshreds and other long-wools not studs, whilst the South Island total is 693,661 merinos' and 5,091,877 crossbreds and other long-wools not studs, giving a grand total for New Zealand of 11,369,258.
