(Before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) ALLEGED THEFT. Arthur Ford was remanded till Wednesday on a charge of his having stolen >£22 10s. from Florence Ford. Chief-Detective Broberg stated that the defendant had been given the money by the informant to pay away in respect of a fish-and-chips business that the two were purchasing, and that he had, seemingly, decamped with the money. The informant, Florence Ford, asked leave to withdraw the information, but the Court could not see its way to agree to the request, and,, adopted tho course stated above. ' , OTHER CASES. : ' For insobriety, John MTMillan was fined 10s. Richard Hawes was'fined .£1 for having assaulted John Mllillan. Vincent Aldwinckle was sentenced to one month's imprisonment for having deserted the steamer Ruapehu.
