THE TRAM QUESTION AGAIN. Tho Knrori Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor (Mr. C. Cathie) presiding. Councillors present were: B. G. H. Burn, E. 'SI. Anderson, W. H. Niinmo, E. J. A letter' was'received from the 'Wellington City Council asking the council's cooperation in ' their ' endeavour to; repealSection 25 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908. The council decided to accede to the request! It was also, decided to communicate with s SIr. W. H. D. Bell, M.P.. asking for liis.nssistnnco in tho matter. Mr. Seed, tho Society for the Prevention of Crucltv to Animals' inspector, was granted a free pass onothe borouglvitramsiAt a special meeting of the council, held on September 12, the special committee set up to interview the City' Tramway Board 're Sunday fares on the borough line, recommended that the tares be as follow:—From Botanical Gardens' to Northland, 2d.; from Northland to Johnston Street (Karori Cemetery), 2d.; or a through special ticket to Johnston Street, Council Chambers, or Karori Park, 3d.; and also that concession' tickets be avail'able on Sundays. The committee's report was adopted. Councillor Burn moved that the agents for the sole of concession tickets'be instructed not to sell such tickets on' Sundays. , Tho motion was seconded, bv Sfr. Hildreth. and carried. Councillor lla'miltdii's motion: "That concession tickets be not available on Sundays,", was lost on tho voices. Councillor Standen moved that stops be taken to ascertain from the Tramway Board the number of passengers carried on the. Northland cars. Councillor Hildreth seconded the motion, which was carried.
