OLD SOLDIERS' HONOURS.

Sir,—'There has lately been an order, D.5.0., created for military men, which is right and proper, but it appears to me that, on unintentional injustice is dotio to those who were rewarded by special mention for distinguished action in dispatches during tho war with Tβ Kooti and Tito Kowaru. There would not be probably more than 25 men so named. 1 surest D.S.O. (N.Z.). The fact of favourable mention is quickly, forgotten. The proposed decoration would speak for itself.— I am, etc, AN OLD SOLDIER.
