The objects of the league were staled as follow:— (1) To secure prudent and honest administration of the 'public affairs of the JJominion according to sound economic principles. (2) To secure and maintain freedom of political conscience and opinion. (fc) To support measures giving equality of opportunity to all, (t) To guard strictly the constitutional prerogatives of Parliament, particularly with regard to measures giving undue powers of patronage to iliuisters. (5) To promote and encourage the candidature for Parliament of honourable, capable, and representative men. (G) To take such measures as may i commend themselves to the league for 1 the • furtherance of the foregoing objects, and such others as may from time to timo be adopted in addition i thereto. The name of the league was reaffirmed, ami the committee's report was adopted. Tbe proposal by the Canterbury branch that a party year-book should be published was, on the recommendation of a committee, referred to the Dominion Executive for favourable consideration. The committee reported that it had no recommendation to make regarding the proposed appointment of an official organiser of I the party. The report of the committee was adopted. It was resolved that the Dominion Executive should consist of the leader of the I party and eleven other members, and an executive of this number, including two ladies, was, constituted to act during the | next twelve months. A. clause was added to the constitution, providing for the representation at tlif I Dominion Conference of women's branches |by one delegate from each electorate Thanks were accorded to the ladies foi their services in the past, the resotutioi: : being carried with cheers. The conference concluded at 3.30 p.m with cheers for tlift Wellington League foi its entertainment; of the visiting deld gates, and the singing of "Auld Lan; Sync."
