ITS EXEMPTION FROM RATES. At the Municipal Conference yesterday, Mr. R. Fletcher, n Wellington delegate, moved: "That the Crown's exemption from rates lie a,fcolishod." Mr. Fletcher said that, for instance, there was at tho present time a great deal of State goods parsing over the wluirves, but no rates were ]v\id upon them. . The motion was carried, and tho following remits were then agreed to without discussion.
