IMPOSSIBLE POSITION.
MR. JAMES BRYCE AND CANADIAN AFFAIRS. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright. London, May 2. Questions have been given notieo of in tho House of Commons asking whether the Right Hon. Mr. James Bryco (British Ambassador to the United States) was aware of President Taft's intention to make Canada an adjunct of the United States when he recommended the acceptance of reciprocity. Tho "Evening News," repeating current reports, suggests that Mr. Bryce's departure for Australia is a prelude of. his being offered a peerage and his re-entry into British politics. His position had become impossible since tho failure of tho Treaty. Throe-quarters of Mr. Bryce's time, the paper declares, was occupied in Canadian affairs.
