TITANIC DISASTER.
BRITISH INQUIRY OPENED. By Telegraph-Press Aasociation-Ooprrieht. London, May 2. The Titanic Wreck Commission hag opened at Westminster. The Crown Law Officers represent tho Board of Trade, Sir Robert Finlay, K.C., the Wiiite Star Company, and Mr. Thomas Scanlon (lawyer and M.P.for North Sligo) the Sailors' and Firemen's Union. Three hundred witnesses will be examined. BANDMASTER'S BODY FOUND. Halifax, May 2. The body of Mr. Hnrtloy, the Titanic's bandmaster, was recovered. His musiccase was strapped to his- body. SAFETY APPLIANCES. Berlin, May 2. A hundred representatives of shipping companies and maritime organisations attended a conference initiated by the Kaiser to discuss safety appliances for use at saa. Herr Delbrueck, Minister for the Interior, presided. MR. ISMAY ILL. New York, May 2. Mr. Bruce Istnay is suffering from nervous strain.
