Capacity business was the order of the clay yesterday at all sessions of MacMnhon and Donnelly's continuous picture entertainment at the New Theatre, Manners Street. The management announce that, in addition to the current series, there will bo introduced to-day an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's famed drama, "A Doll's House'' The success of this noted piny was attributed to tho remarkably well-drawn characters, and the enthralling plot. Ibsen has created a heroine whose devotion to her husband causes her to risk imprisonment for forgory, and it is only by the self-sacriHco of a bnnk clerk, who practically compounds ii felony, that she is saved. Tho climax is said to provide a stirring scene of a kind in which this great dramatist excels. "A Doll's House" is superbly staged and i artistically enacted. It will, bo shown at all sessions to-day and to-night.

SHORTT'S THEATRE. Last evening's inclement weather did not seriously affect the Hip continuous ' picture • show at Shortt's Theatre, which was well filled at the various sessions. "The Launching of the Titanic" was screened for the last time, and an entirely new programme is announced for to-day. The lending film in the new series is "Testing His Courage," a powerful Western drama by the Vitagraph Company. "Other good items will be "In the Tyrol (Pathe scenic), ''Why Ho Gnve Up" (A.B. comedy), and "Tweedledum as Biding Master" (comedy). The theatre is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. KING'S THEATRE. Steady patronage, which varies but little nightly, continues to be bestowed on West's and the. Royal Pictures at. the ICing's Theatre. The present programme includes such pictures as "A Victim of the Mormons, "Love in Many Moods," and "iiilly's Stratagem." . A special programme will be screened this evening, when a benefit will be accorded to the Wednesday Cricket Association, the funds being in aid of the big work which is now in progress on the Basin Reserve. The star picture for next Monday will be a military incident entitled, "Drummed Out." ST. THOMAS'S HALL. At St. Thomas's Hall this evening there -will bo complete change of programme, and among tho films to bo shown will be what is described ns a thrilling and exciting sporting drama, "The Double Event." This picture deals with tho Melbourne Cup, and ns the picture is thrown upon the screen the story will be told by Mr. Alfred Boothman. MISS CARRIE MOORE. Miss Carrie Moore, whoso initial appearanco in Now Zealand will bo mado under the Brennan-Fiiller management at the Theatre Royal next Monday, is well known to the New Zealand public. Mr. J. C. Williamson, it will bo remembered, specially imported Miss Jtooro from England some nine or ten years ago, to play the principal role, as "Konia" in "Tho Merry Widow." Her success in Australia was so great that for seven years afterwards Mr. Williamson retained her as his principal lead. At the expiration of that period on engagement was offered her in Engand to play "Mary" in "Our Miss , Gibbs." This piece hud a phenomenal run of six hundred nights, with Miss Moore at the head of it. Sineo then Miss Mooro has appeared at tho leading English music-halls.
