COLLEGE GOVERNORS.
The monthly meeting of the Board of Governors of Wellington College and the Girls' High School was held yesterday, there being present:—The chairman (Mr. A. dc B. Brandon), Jliss Richmond, and Alessrs. W. I'. Ward, A. Warburton, and If. Xee. The statement of finances disclosed a bank overdraft of .£ll2 7s. Bd. It was stated that application would be made to the Education Department for an advance, on account, of <£1000, in respect of tho Government grants due. This would adjust the matter. The chairman, apropos of the question of maintaining an adequate balance on the credit side, said that the board ought to endeavour to 1 , carry, a floating balance of .E2GOO. This would be a more satisfactory method of carrying on. Fees outstanding totalled .21198 9a. Bd. (Boys' College) and .£1033 15s. (Girls' College), There was also an amount of JEII7 3;. Sd. outstanding in respect of rents l due. The credit balance on paper represented .£2239 os. 9d.
