There were also 1G grandchildren, while four others wero away at school. There were also other relatives and friends ot Mr. o.nd Mrs. Denholm present, the function being of a very enjoyable nature. A large number of very handsome presents as well as letters and telegrams of congratulation wero received by tho worthy couple. The Rev. T. Tait, in a eulogistic speech, proposed tho health and future happiness of Mr. and Mrs. Denholm, and wished them as mucli joy in the eventide of their life as they had experienced during the fifty years they had been married. Mr. Denholm, on behalf of his wife and himself, suitably responded. Mr. and Mrs. Denholm were married in tho Presbyterian Church, Isapier, by the Rev. Peter Darclay, and arc the second Napier-married couple to celebrate their golden wedding, but it is < perhaps a unique coincidence that during the whole fiftv years of their married life they have resided at the Port on tho same section on which they now reside.
