BRUTAL MURDER.
, AT THE MASKELYNE ISLANDS. By Tclesrapli—PreE6 Assnciation-CopyriEht Sydney, April 24. Mails from the New Hebrides report the brutal murder of a Jlr. Turicr and liis wife at the Maskelyue Islands, near Malekula. Turier was manager of ths Lanour Station. Both he and his wife were shot by natives as they were sitting at dinner. Mrs. Turier received a bullet in the hack of her head. AVhen her body was discovered she was still holdiur a soup tureen, which she had been ir the net of placing on the table. Sir. Turier was sitting with his back to the table. He had a bullet in the chest and another in the arm, tho limb being shattered. It is supposed the crime was committed in veugeance for illegal recruiting by some whites in the past.
