CHURCH REPORT.
* ST. MARY'S, KAEOEI. In their annual report the vestry of St. Mary's Anglican Church, Karon, still n that they are glad to be again in a position to lay before the parishioners a satisfactory report of the finances of tho church for the year. Generally, the finances arc in as slable a condition as at last year, showing in somo of Ihe more important items a slieht upward tendency. In offertories there has been an increase, of £5 2s. 3d. In subscriptions and donations, an increase of X4l 13s. 6d.; receipts from the parochial hall, JEIS; Hip pice organ fund has increased from £11 10s. oil. to £1!H 12s. nd.i while no I«s a sum than .£248 18s. sd. has been received on account of fhe new church fund. But allhoudi the offertories, in Ihe aigriynte, show an increa?e on thofe of last year, the geneva 1 offertories show a considerable decrease, in consequence nf which the general account suffers. Very pjiconrasin.e reports hnvo b»?n received from th? committee of St. Mathi.is, Malcara, whose new church fund has benefited during tho year to the extent of £26—the proceed? 'of a sale of work—and now hns reached £185 15~. 2d. Of events of epeciiil interest that have occurred during the year the most important is the completion of tho first half of tho new church. Tho churchwardens regret to have to chronicle the retaliation of the choirmaster, Mr. V. V. AVaters. who has for eighteen years mo«t capably directed the musical studies of the choir.
