DEATH OF A SPORTSMAN.
4 MR. IIIDDLETON JIELROSE. By Telesraph-Presa Association-Copyright (Kec. April 24, 8 p.m.) Melbourne, April 24. The remains of the late Mr. L. Hose Jaggar, ex-general manager of the Atlas Insurance Company, New Zealand, a well-known sportsman, were buried on Saturday. [The late Mr. Jaggar was at oue time in the New Zealand Telegraph Department, and was a contemporary of Sir Joseph Ward. Hβ left tho service, and went to Australia, and became manager of the Queensland and Mutual Insurance Company. 'This concern was absorbed by the Manchester Fire Office, and Mr. Jaggar was appointed manager in Australia. Later the Manchester sold to the Atlas, and Mr. Jaggar transferred to New Zealand, as.manager of the Atlas. He raced under the name of Mr. Middleton Melrose, and while, in New Zealand ho owned the racers Cohort, Magnetic, Truganini, Lord Kelvin, and Soprano. Mr. Jaggnr left New Zealand on Deceml>er IC, 1910- He suffered a great deal from ill-health, and underwent several operations.].
