The Ven. Archdeacon Willis, who has resigned from St. Andrew's parish, Cambridge, preached his last official sermon on Sunday evening. After the service, the vestry met and passed the following resolution: "That the vestry places on record its appreciation of the ureal services rendered to the church by the vicar, the Ven. William Nencomb de Laval Willi's, who. after a period of 34 years' ministry in the parish, is now retiring from active work. While attending unremittingly to I lie spiritual duties of his ofiiee, he has paid very great attention to the material interests of the parish, as witness the, valuable properly acquired and kept in excellent condition, entirely as the result of liis good judgment and effective supervision. The members of the vestry hereby assure him of their best wishes and earnest prayers for continued good health, and every blessing."

Mr. William Gulliver, who died in Auckland on Saturday last, from a pulmonary disease, v;as for many years valuer under the Auckland City Council, and latterly was. engaged in the Stato Valuation .Department. He was born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England, in 1552, and arrived, in Auckland 35 years ago. Widely known in his professional capacity, Mr. Gulliver was recognised as an expert in heraldry. ;

A Press Association message from W'aitara states that on Tuesday morning the Hon. Mr. Laurcuson and the Hon. Te Kangiliiroa left for the north. Addresses were given at tho schools en route. At I'l-enui, where tho Hon. Te liangihiroa spent his youth, his visit had a particular interest to the school. At Mokati, the Minister for Marine went into matters connected with tho Wharf River Trust, and yesterday morning he went up the river. The party returned to Waitara last night, and were to leave for Wellington this morning.
