PERSONAL ITEMS.

The Hon. T. Mackenzie (Prime Minister) left on Saturday for the Weraroa State I'arm, and to-day will proceed by Main Trunk express to Auckland. The Hon. 0. \V. Russell is to accompany the Prime Minister on his northern journey. The Hon. A. M. Myers left for Auckland on Saturday. The Hon. J. Colviu returned from Nelson on Saturday, and the Hon. 'H. G. Ell from Christchurch yesterday morning. The other Ministers'are in town, but tho Hon. G. Laurenson leaves for Waitara this morning. Tho Hon. To Rangihiroa leaves this morning for New l'lymouth. On Tuesday he will be at Wnitara, and on Wednesday at Graitford, in thoßangitikei district.

At tho Wellington Gas Company on Friday night Mr. W. J. Nagle, o'f the office stalf, was made the recipient of a huiidsoiiie present, on the occasion of his leaving the company's employ. The presentation was made fay the accountant (Mr. W. J. Stevens), and Mr. Naglc suitably responded.

The Hoy.il Wellington Choral Society has secured the services of Mr. Hamilton Hodges for the production in concert form oE Moscagni's opera "Cavalleria Itusticana." This completes the quartet, which will consist of Miss Eosina Buckman (soprano), Miss Dull (contralto), Mr. Phillip Newbury (tenor), and Mr. Hodges (baritone).

On Friday evening Mr. F. H. G. GalYin, secretary of tho Star Boating Club, received a presentation frpm the members of tho club to mark their esteem and respect on the occasion of his approaching marriage. The presentation, which consisted of a solid silver entrco dish, was made in suitable terms by the captain of tho clnb, Mr. A. D. Bayfield. .

Mr. W. Jennings, ex-M.P. for Taumarunui, is to receivo a presentation at Wailara this evening.

Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, Registrar of tho Supreme Court, who has been on a visit to Europe, will return to Wellington by the Kuapehu on Maj !ii>.

Representatives of the press have been afforded a "floor" view of a number of the pictures which have been brought out from England by Mr. John Baillie. None of the pictures ere hung yet, but a. couple of hundred perhaps either stand or lie on the floor ready for "the lino" the "sky," or tho "earth," as 3lr. Baillio disposes. Among tho visitors were several members of the New Zealfcsad Academy of Fine Arts, and the cons. J. Hanan and W. D. S. Macdonald.

'Mr. Lan Duncan, of the staff of Levin and Co., left for London on Friday last.
