Russell also addressed the men. Ho slated that ho was convinced of. the necessity for universal training, and what ho had seen of the camp continued his opinion that it was a grand thing for the country. Ho would be only too glad, as far as in him lay, to do all'in his power to persuade the tiovernnieiit (within the limits of due economy) to make the men as happy and comfortable in cnnip as possible. The Hon. IT. 0. Ell said that in camp they would make friendships which would not be possible ill civilian life, and would develop such a spirit of camaraderie and esprit lie corps as would remain a pleasant memory, to them all their lives.
