1 SPORT WITH THE RIFLE. Week-end shooting competitions wer# continued at Trentham and elsewhere on Saturday afternoon, details of Iho scoring ill the various matelies being as follow ICAROBI RIFLE CLUB. Swecpslako match, seven shots at. each of the three ranges, 300, 500, and " 600 yards. Some excellent shcoting was dons by Riflemen Ooxton and Lower, oacli of whom notched the much coveted ccatury, the former with a "possible" at 500 yard's, winding un with a total of 101 out of 105, while the latter, with a hard-earned "possible" at COO yards, brought liis aggregato score up io 100. A good performance was also put up by Rifleman C'oker; one of tho club's handicap men, who aggregated 95 for the thrco ranges, thus equalling tho club's standard without the inclusion of a handicap. The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club journe« ed to Upper Hutt on Saturday to fire < teams match with the local club. Tln ; match conditions were twelve men a-side 'ten highest scores to count. The local team was two men short, and an average was struck for the two men, the highest ten scores constituting their team, with the following result:—Suburbs, 879; Upper Hutt, 853. Several members of both sides shot in the dark at COO yards, the most unfortunate beinu Messrs. F. Wilkie. iuko Wlnlcmau, .1. Smart, and W. M. Jackson, sen. Tho latter, with 46 at 500 found it impossible to see his target at COO yards. The -visitors were entertained by the local men, and a pleasant after, noon ivas spent. Mr. F.
