PAKTK,"ULAIIS OF A KiiOKNT iilPOItTATION. The pedigree Holstein-Friesian bull, OoLantha Pietertje Count de Kol, imported from America by Mr. H. Bayliss, of Mangatainoka was released from quarantine last Tuesday, and is now safely on its owner's farm. The bull, which was purchased from Mr. D. W. Field, of Montello, Mass., by whom ho was bred, was born on July 11, 1911. His grand-dam on the 6ire's side, Colantha Fourth's Johanna, holds the champion figures of 35.221b. butter per week, and butter in one year. The granddam on the mother's side is an ex-eham-pion of the world. De Kol (Jreauiellc— 1191b. Of milk in one day, SS.l.'ilb. butter per week. The bull's Ham, Dutchland Creamelle de Kol, at 3J years, gave 21.21 lb, of butter per week, llis sire is Colantha Johanna Lad The new arrival's grandsire is the parent of seven daughters who average over 301b. oi' butter each per week—a truly remarkable record. On blood, Mr. liayliss's bull is one of the best imported into New Zealand. In appearance he is credited with being an excellent typo of dairy bull which should leave his impress on tho slock of New Zealand.
