EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

4 A meeting of thn Eastbourne Borough Council was held on Saturday evening, when thero wore present:—The Jlavor (Mr. H. \V. Shortt), C'omicillors Button, Morris, Organ, l'iicher, Ross, and Wills. An application for permission to lay a concrete cricket pitch on the recreation reserve having been received, a. subcommittee was set up to confer upon tlie matter, with power to act. Exception was taken by some councillors to the material pre posed. As a result of the Town Clerk's report upon the sanitation services of the borough, it was resolved, on Councillor Organ's motion, that tho sanitation and lighting services lie dissevered, and tho i'own Clerk was instructed to take steps to give effect to the decision. Consideration was given to the Town Clerk's draft sanitation by-laws, covering regulations for all branches of tho borough's sanitation services. These regulations were adopted, and ordered to be printed and circulated. Instructions were given for erection of a turn-stile and for the clearing of the tracks at the public park recently acquired. On Councillor Organ's motion, it was decided to ask the responsible parties for the reason of delay in completion of lltitt I'ipe Bridge approaches, and when the work might be expected to lie completed, also io ask the Wellington City Council whether conditions <if the agreement made in November, 100 S. had been complied with. At conclusion of above, the annual meeting of the Eastbourne Domain Board (the council for the time being) was held, and the secretary's report adopted.
