HIGH COMMISSIONERSHIP.
A RUMOUR CONTRADICTED. Sir Joseph Ward yesterday authorised a denial of a statement that tlio Governiiient intended, before the session, to appoint a gentleman on the directorate of the Bank of New Zealand to the position of High Commissioner. The Primo Minister added that the question of making such an appointment had never oven been considered by the Government.
