ENTRIES CLOSE TO-DAY.
A final reminder is given to those interested that all entries, including those for tho stack-building, competition, for tho Feilding show, which .takes place on February G and 7, close with the secretary to-day. I A SWOLLEN HORSE. KEILVKKABLE CASE OF STAKING. A' peculiar caso is reported as having come under tho notice of Dr. Colvin, of Molong, N>.w South Wales, recently. A valuable draught horse, belonging to Mr. James Barrett, of Garni, was staked near tho shoulder with u hook, aoid immediately commenced to swell all over in an amazing maimer. The doctor found that from its nose to its hoofs the horso had swollen to almost twice its normal size. Apparently wind had got in between tho ilesh and the skin ami blown it out like a football. When. .Dr. Colvin tapped the animal in several places the wind escaped with a hiss. Tho doctor says it is tho first case of its kind that; he has met with in conned ion with animals, though he had met with similar cases in human beings.
