Maheno, close at Auckland, Monday, January 1, at 8 a.m. Mails for the Commonwealth of Australia only, via Hobart, close at Bluff, per Manuka, on Monday, January 1, at 3 p.m. ' On Monday, January 1 (New Year's Day), the Postal Department will be closed in all its branches. On the above-named day mails dispatched by steamers will close at 6.30 a.m., also mails by trains for the Wairarapa, Taranaki, Wanganui, Rangitikei, Manawatn, Hawlto's Bay, and Auckland districts will close at 6.30 a.m. There will not be any clearances of the city receivers or deliveries by letter-car-riers on the above-named day, but on Saturday, December 30, thsro will be a full afternoon delivery by the lettercarriers, closing at the Chief Post Office at 1:40 p.m. On Saturday, December 30, there will a delivery by tho lottercarricre at the Drill-shed from 0.30 to 9.30 p.m., and the Parcels Department will bo open from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m.; also a delivery over tho public counter at the Chief Post Office from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m. of correspondence . addressed to the Post Office only. Extra clearances will be made as follow:—All city receivers will be cleared at 6 p.m.; Wellington South, Kilbirnie, and, Hataitai receivers at 5 p.m and suburban ones at 4.30 p.m. "' The next best dispatch for Continent of Europe and United Kingdom will bo via Naples, closing at Wellinirton, per Moana Friday, January 5, at 3.30 p.m, ' The next best dispatch for Canada, United States of America, Central America, and West Indies will, bo via Rorotonga, Tahiti, and San Francisco, closing at Wcllineton per s.s.
