The charge was reduced to wilfully damaging property. Accused pleaded guilty, and was fined JGIO, in default two months' imprisonment. A young man named E. R. Floyd was sentenced to thirty days' imprisonment for theft of a watch, which he snatched from another man in an hotol.

THAT WATERSPOUT. Dunedifl, December 29. A -visit to the North-East Valley this morning disclosed the fact that if ono portion of Lindsay's Crsek had been cleared of boulders there would have been very little flooding last night. The water got dammed up, broke across the lowlyiug township of Glenroy, and met a quantity of surface water at the gardens. The unfortunate effect is that many residents are alarmed, and have intimated' their intention to give up their houses. One landlord has already received notjeo of the intention, of six of his tenants to quit, The rain cleared up at two o'clock this morning, and the waters zre now rapidly subsiding.
