. M'VEA-LANGFORD FIGHT. AN UNPOPULAE WIN. By TeleffrMh-Press Assoclatioa-OooyrUht ' Sydney, December 26, 'Sam" M'Vea beat "Sam" Langford this morning, on points, in a twentyround boxing match. There was an enormous, crowd at the fight., M'Vea was easily tho better of the two in. the first ten rouuds, scoring apparently' as he liked with left hooks to tho faco. Langford replied with straight lefts to the jaw and right swing 3 to the body. The latter, however, wero generally blocked. ..,-.... In the eleventh session M'Vea seemed to lire. From then to tho seventeenth Langford took the lead, fighting savagely. M'Vea'e better boxing stood to him, howovnr. The last two rounds again brought his heavy left into play. Both wofo going strong at the finish, though Langford's right eye was completely closed. The verdict was unpopular with a large section of the crowd.

Westport, December 26, At the Westport Boxing Association's tournament to-day in six-round special bouts, Mo/fatt (Deiinisto.-i) defeated Costa (Westport), and W. Senior (Westport) defeated J. Hunter (Nelson). The professional event— J. Gi'ift'en, of Greymouth, versus P. W. Cootes, of Cape Foulwind— was won by Cootes on a , knock-out in tho eleventh round, after a very even contest.
