ANNUAL BEPOFiT. Tli? committee of. the. Yorkshire Society >tnt.e in their annual report, to be presented at the annual meeting of the society on December 20, that members' subscriptions show a large 'decrease in comparison with last year's figures. Members are urged to settle their arrears, and thus help the society io maintain a solid financial condition. During the past year three new members were elected. This is not what should be, and members are asked to do their best iu securing new- members. _ Mr. .1. C'harlesworth has offered the society the use of his pretty grounds at Wallaceville for an annual picnic, and appreciation of his genfrous offer has been recorded. The first picnic was held on March I, and was highly successful. A cricket match. T'otone Yorkshiremen v. ■Wellington Yorkshireivien, was held at I'etono at the close of hst season, and resulted in a win for Pcttinc. Four card ' tournaments have been played for the "J. F. Atkins'" trophy. and wins have lieen .recorded by Messrs. Keade, Boyd, and. I'ortune, anil Mrs. Boyd. The visit, of tho .Sheffield Choir last .Tune proved of more than ordinary interest to the society, .and •though"circumstances did not permit of a welcome from tho society, every effort was made to help in making the visit a pleasure. Over twenty of the choir partook of accommodation offered by mern'bors. Tho usual evening to tho Home for tho Aged and Needy was gi.ven iu Octobor, and was in every way a success. The committee desires to thank those members and their friends who so generously assisted. The annual dinner was, as usual, a highly successful function. The Jluddersfield Bellringers were (entertained by the society on November 28, and a most enjoyable time, was spent by . all those who were present. The thanks of tlie society are due to Mr. W. S. Bedford for the fr;-e use of liis Willis Street rooms for committee meetings; also to nil those members who contributed towards tiw success of tho monthly meeting.-. The statement of accounts shows a credit balance of .C6^.
