CARTERTON.
Mr. S. Wright, stationmaster, left on Tuesday on annual holiday leave. During his absence, Mr. A. Johnson will be in charge, and Mr. H. H. T. "Wood will act as relieving officer. Shearing at Mr. J. Strang's Glensidc Station will be finished on Thursday, if tho weather proves favourable. The anniversary services of the Methodist. Sunday School were held on Sunday. There were large congregations, tho Rev. A. Hodge, of Masterton, being the preacher. The choir, children, and orchestra, under the conductorship of Mi. D. T. King, rendered special hymns and anthems At the residence, 74 Cambridge Terrace, to-day, a sale of household furnishings and.effects will bo held by the City Auc Hon. Eoom Company.
