H.M.S. TORCH IN TROUBLE.
LOSES HER PROPELLOR, By TeltsThth— Prc»» Atiocixtien— Cepyrtgbl (Rec. December 11, 8.55 p.m.) Sydney, December 11. Tho Admiral has been advised that IT.M.-S. Torch, whilo cruising in the vicinity of Noumea, lost her propellor, probably as Ihp result of touching an uncharted rock. With tho help of her sails tho vessel reached Noumea where she will remain until assistance arrives. Tho cruiser Pyscho has been ordered from Melbourne to Noumea to tow tho Torch to Sydney.
Tho Torch is a screw sloop 0f.960 tons displacement and 1100 indicated horsepower. She carries six guns.
