MR. CAMPBELL EXPECTED TO WIN HANDSOMELY. (By Telerraph-Snocial CorrejDon«ent.) Hastings, December 8. The success of Mr. H. N. Campbell, the Reform candidate for Hawke's Bav, at tho first ballot has been the subject for considerable satisfaction to his supporters, and although Mr. Sirason's friends still express hopefulness the general impression is that Mr. Campbell must win handsomely. Already both parties have made arrangements to fight out tho issue determinedly to the end. The win of Mr. Hunter in tho adjoining electorate of Waipawa was .very well received, as indeed were the numerous other Opposition successes that .became known last night. Both Mr. Simson's and Mr. Campbell's friends meet to-night to. discuss the details of the final contest.
