Mr. Asquith, Prime Minister, in reply to questions in the House of Commons, denied that there existed any secret engagement entailing on Great Britain the obligation to render military or naval assistance to any other Power. Begarding tho possibility of keeping Parliament in closer touch with foreign affairs, he had not yet seen any practicable proposal consistent with tho maintenance of the undivided responsibility of the Executive.
