Mr. Bonar Law, Leader of tho Opposition, in a speech at Bootle, in emphasising that it was utterly impossible for Homo Rule to be carried as part of tho Liberals' corrupt political bargain, remarked that, although the graut of Homo Eulo from the party standpoint may be an advantage to tho Unionists, inasmuch as the Nationalists would bo solidly against them, the Unionist* were determined to oppose Home Eulo to tho last gasp, and when the time camo there would bo no shrinking from strong action to defeat one of tho most ignoble conspiracies ever formed against the liberties of freeborn men.
