Convalescent Heme Trustees. A meeting of tho Convalescent Homo Trustees was held at the residence of Miss Coatcs._ There were present: Mesdames Wcst-Knowlcs, Litchfield, Barron (treasurer), Miss Coatea and Miss Nathan (secretary). Tho matron reported that during the month eleven patients were admitted and fifteen were discharged. Gifts were acknowledged from Mesdames Martin, Eotkoram, and Wcst-Enowles. Headquarters v. College, Yesterday afternoon a cricket match was played on the Wellington College green between the Headquarters Staff of tho Defence Forces and .Wellington College. Tea was served in two marquees, which had been erected on tho further side of tho grounds, and a band, stationed not far from them, played delightful music. Although rain threatened quite enough to deter some people from being present, it did not actually arrive till all was over, and a very pleasant time was spent by everyone. Among those present were Colonel and Mrs. Heard, Colonel and Mrs. Burnett Stuart, Mrs. Thornton, Mrs. Firth, Mrs. Ward, Mrs. Knos, Captain and Mrs. Duigan, Major and Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Bridge, Mr. and Mrs. Coleridge, Mrs. Tweed, Miss court, Mrs. Lan Duncan, Miss Duncan, Mrs. Rathbono and tho Misses Bathbone (2), Miss Miles, Miss Brandon, Miss Pearce, Miss M'Lean, Dr. Purdv, Miss Biddiford, Miss Fwan, Miss Wa'rburton, Mrs. Fitohctt, Mrs. Dymoek, Miss Xathan, Miss Jones, Mrs. Corrigan, Mrs. Harcourt Turner, and many others. The match will bo concluded to-day, provided tho weather be fine.
Invitations have been issued by Mrs. Grady for an "at home" next Wednesday, to meet the council and staff of the Eichmond Free- Kindergartens. Examination certificates will bo awarded, and there will be an exhibition of the students' handwork. Mrs. J. Hay-arrived in Wellington from Sydney this week, and left for Temuka on Thursday. Mr. James F. Laing, accompanied by Mrs. laing, passed through Wellington yesterday on their way to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Orrnond Cooper (Masterton) are visitors to Wellington. Miss Vnllance left for Mastcrton on Wednesday, and returns to Wellington within a day or two, Mrs. Atkinson arrived in Wellington from Nelson by the Takapuna on Thursday.
