DISTRESSING ACCIDENT.
CniLD FATALLY BURNED. (By Tclerraph—Press Association.) Duncdin, November 20. A distressing accident, ending fatally, occurred at the Lower Harbour on Wednesday night. .Mrs. C. It. Pickering, while holding her four-montlis-old, child in her arms took a fit and fell into the kitchen lire. They were alone in the house, and both mother and child were severely burned. On Tliur>dav (hey were removed to the Cotlag-a Hospital at Port Chalmers. Yesterday morning the. child died. Mrs. Pickering's injuries are not of a serious nature. Mr. Graham held an inrjuosl this forenoon touching the death of the child. A verdict was returned that death was duo' to shock, resulting from burns accidentally received.
