• . CLEABING SALE. Messrs. Dalgety and-Company, Limited, report having held a very successful clearing sale yesterday, on account of Messrs. A, and J. Welch. Although the weather was unfavourable, buyers were present from all parts of the Wairarapa and Wellington, the reeult being that competition for every lino was keen. The stock came forward in a manner that did credit to the .owners. . The horses offered woro a particularly fine lot, and (the report adds) we havo authority from a competent judge in these parts (Jir. W. D. Watson) to say that, in his opinion, they were the best lino over offered at a clearing salo in that dißtrlcl, Tho sheep also were a good lot, and prices realised must bo considered very satisfactory. In eattlo were offered some extra good dairy sows, which were well sought after, tho result being that high prices wore realised for each lot submitted to auction.
