FIRES.
« (By Telegraph-Press Association.) Auckland, November 8. \ boardinghouse at Kai'-aia, owned by Mr. -V. Richlor, was burned to the ground at two o'clock this morning. Doth tho building an<l the furniture were insured but very httlo of the latter was saved! The. occupants at tho tune of (ho outbreak wore Mrs. Kirtlan and family and thrco boarders. The amouuts of tlio insurance are not available. At fico occurred at 281 Cuba Street last cvoniii" in an uuoccuiiicd (wo-slorycd wooden" house, owned by a Mr. Wall, of \bel Smith Street. The outbreak was nuickly suppressed, but tlio walls ami oViling of the upnor story were, badly damaged. The amount of the insurance is not announced.
