TRAMWAYS DISPUTE.
TERMS OP SETTLEMENT FRAMED. Tho hearing of tho Wellington tramways dispute was continued yesterday before the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr. P. Ilally), at a silting wliioh lasted from 2.15 p.m. until G. 30 p.m. Tho final result was that nn understanding was conic to in regard to all points in dispute. As on the previous day the assessors representing tho union were Messrs. A. Sutherland, K. Phair, and W. Tomlinson. The City Council assessors were Messrs. J. R. Palmer (Town Clerk), M. Cable (assistant tramways engineer), and D. M'Gillivray. Mr. Cable acted as assessor for the council during the whole, of Tuesday's sitting, and not in the afternoon only as was stated yesterday. The only question that, remained to bo discussed when the assessors met yesterday was that of wages. The discussion 'was protracted, but one of thoso who took part in it stated afterwards that it was conducted ill tho best possible spirit, and with a complete absenre of tho heated talk which marked some of tho discussions in the earlier stages of the dispute. The completed recommendations for an agreement will be submitted to tho Tramways Union, and to the City Council for 'ratification.
