It has been ascertained that on Monday Mr. Trovascus, whose dead and mutilated body was found in his lodginghouse at tho Glebe on Saturday, drew .£SO from his bank. The money was not in tho room when tho body was found. Tho writing on tho memorandum stating that ho would not return till Friday was not that of Mr. Trevascus. TOE ONLY CLTJE. (Rec. November G, 9.35 p.m.) Sydney, November G. The murder mystery continues to baffle a whole army of police and detectives. The only clue so far is the statement of a lady in a shop beneath Mr. Trcvascus's room that on Tuesday a well-dressed young man called on Mr. Trevascus. She heard a bump, hut took no notice. When she saw tho man afterwards he appeared agitated and' trembling, but sho did not attach any importanco to tho fact until she was informed of Saturday's discovery. Mr. Trevascus is described as a cantankerous man, having many enemies. Exactly what profession ho followed is not statod, but ho appears to havo dealt in precious metals. The medical examination revealed nine distinct wounds in the deceased man's head. A LETTER AND A CALLER. .'(Rcc. November 7, 0.20 a.m.) Sydney, November 6. Tho polico havo found,.a letter in Mr. Trevascus's room, signed "Fisher," purporting to come from Emu Plains, .and stating that the writer would call at 9.30 o'clock on Monday night. The deceased man's neighbour was with him at that time,.and says a man called, but on sesing him declined to come in, saying ho had forgotten • his bag, and would call later. He did not come again that night. Trevascus wa's nervous, and pressed tho niighboitf to stay till a lato hour. Tho polico havo been unablo to trace anyone named Fishfr of Emu Plains.
